For Preparation:
A smooth, clean and dry wall is essential for the best finish.
Before installation, remove dust, dirt and loose material from the wall. Clean the surface with a mild detergent or sugar soap and allow it to dry completely. Any holes, cracks or uneven areas should be filled, sanded smooth and left to dry before applying wallpaper.
New, unpainted or porous walls should be sealed or primed before installation. Wallpaper is not recommended for damp walls, textured walls, freshly painted walls, unprimed drywall or surfaces with mould or peeling paint.
A dry surface is the right surface - please be patient and make sure your wall is fully prepared before starting.
Installation:
Always install wallpaper carefully and follow the instructions for your chosen material.
For Peel & Stick wallpaper, start at the top of the wall and peel back a small section of backing at a time. Apply slowly, smoothing as you go to avoid bubbles. If bubbles or wrinkles appear, gently peel back and reapply using a soft felt squeegee.
For Pre-Pasted wallpaper, activate the backing with water according to the material instructions, then apply to the wall and smooth from top to bottom.
For Traditional Non-Pasted wallpaper, apply wallpaper paste to the wall one drop at a time, then position the wallpaper and smooth gently. Trim the top and bottom once the wallpaper has settled.
For the best result, especially on larger walls, we recommend having two people install the wallpaper together.
